Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Ali questioned the authenticity of these reports, calling for more transparency in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria.
“Most of the time, the hearing of fake news on social media each time claiming 50 or 100 bandits or insurgents have been killed, but you will not see a single corpse,” he said. “And human corpse is not that of a fly.”
His comments come amid ongoing military offensives in the northwest and northeast regions, where government forces are battling criminal gangs and extremist groups.
