Bayelsa community in trouble as NDLEA gives 7 days ultimatum over stolen pistol

The agency in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Daniel Obah, said the community has a grace of seven days to return the pistol or face legal consequences.

The ultimatum by the NDLEA follows a clash between its operatives and some youths of the community on Wednesday.

The incident occurred while the operatives were trying to arrest some drug peddlers. An operation vehicle of the agency was also vandalized in the process by some individuals suspected to be accomplices of the drug peddlers.

However, in the statement, the NDLEA spokesperson said four operatives of the agency were injured during the clash and two were still receiving treatment in a hospital.
