According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army has announced that Hamas’s authority in the Gaza Strip is beginning to crumble, with five Israeli military units now operating across the Palestinian enclave.
Army spokesperson Effie Defri stated that the ongoing military campaign is eroding Hamas’s control, marking a significant shift in the balance of power within Gaza.

Defri emphasized that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying their operations, aiming to dismantle Hamas’s ability to govern and maintain order.
“We are moving to a new stage in the fighting,” Defri said, highlighting that the IDF is expanding its operational control and focusing on defeating Hamas in key areas of the Strip.
According to Israeli officials, the campaign has already resulted in the elimination of several senior Hamas commanders and the disruption of the group’s centralized leadership.
In addition to military advances, Defri addressed recent reports of large numbers of Palestinian civilians killed at aid distribution centers in Gaza.
