An explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) occurred at the Buni Yadi market in Gujba Local Government Area, Yobe State, around 12:30 pm.

Captain Muhammad Shehu, spokesman for the Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed that the incident was caused by a planted IED rather than a suicide bombing.
He also reported that the Army successfully detonated a second IED found at the market.
The attack highlights ongoing security concerns in the region, located 54 kilometers from Damaturu, the state capital.
