“I am pleased to inform Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assented to the bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, in Rivers State,” Daniel declared.

He emphasized that this decision aligns with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, which focuses on addressing past inequalities and creating inclusive institutions to promote balanced national development.

The establishment of the university is seen as a major win for the Ogoni people and the Niger Delta region, which has long advocated for greater investment in education and environmental sustainability.

The institution is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing research and innovation in environmental technology, addressing critical issues such as pollution, climate change, and sustainable development.

Daniel also highlighted that this development follows the recent approval of a federal university in the Southern Kaduna district of Kaduna State, underscoring the administration’s commitment to equitable development across all regions of Nigeria.

“To President Tinubu, there are no minority ethnicities in Nigeria. He believes in the opening stanza of our national anthem, which states that though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood, we stand,” he said.

The announcement has been met with widespread congratulations for the people of Ogoni, who have long sought greater federal presence and investment in their region.

The establishment of the university is not only a testament to the administration’s commitment to national unity but also a strategic move to harness the potential of Nigeria’s diverse regions for collective progress.

The Federal University of Environmental Technology is expected to become a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation, attracting students and scholars from across the country and beyond.

It will also provide opportunities for local communities to benefit from improved access to education and employment, fostering economic growth and development in the region.
