As a result, Mikel Arteta’s side ended their seven-year wait for Champions League football.
The Gunners have never won the Champions League and last featured in the competition in the 2016-2017 campaign.
“I think we [Arsenal players] need to prepare ourselves for the worst, we need to prepare ourselves for the best teams and the whole team is doing that,” Martinelli said as quoted by The Mirror.
“I think we are ready for a new challenge… It is so important [our squad depth] because we have too many games in the season and it’s going to be tough again.
“We are ready to go and it is good to have so many options.”
Arsenal’s next game is against Man United in a club pre-season friendly tie at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on Saturday night.
The North London club will then face Barcelona on Thursday 27, 2023.
