A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Umar, has lampooned the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, over his recent threat to take legal action against the party and its new opposition coalition members.
Umar, a former House of Representatives aspirant for Tarauni Federal Constituency, described Kachikwu’s comments as “laughable” and dismissed him as a non-stakeholder in the affairs of the party.
Speaking to journalists in Kano on Friday, Umar argued that Kachikwu neither belongs to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) nor its National Executive Committee (NEC), and therefore lacks the authority to take any decisive action on behalf of the ADC.

He said: “I find it laughable and mind-boggling how a mere inconsequential former presidential candidate would lay claim to being a stakeholder.
“If I may ask, which stake is Mr. Kachikwu talking about? He neither belongs to the National Working Committee nor the National Executive Committee.”
Umar further accused Kachikwu of being an opportunist who never genuinely aligned with the party’s vision.
“He didn’t embark on any serious campaign or nationwide consultation like a true contender. He was simply a pretender, not a partyman,” he added.
‘Kachikwu Is A Political Jobber’
The ADC chieftain alleged that Kachikwu had no meaningful political influence and was only attempting to destabilise the party on behalf of external interests.

“He is a political jobber without electoral value. If you recall, he had a running battle with the leadership of the ADC during the election period. He is not one of us,” Umar asserted.
