Dave Umahi, as reported by 9jalead, highlighted that protests have not benefited the Igbo people and emphasized the importance of hard work for their progress.

He said that the Igbo people work every hour of the day, and do not need any form of distraction.

Umahi questioned the purpose of the protest, asking what specific solutions the organizers propose to address the country’s challenges.

He praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for averting national failure, suggesting that the current government is actively addressing the country’s issues.

He said that the protest will not yield tangible results for the Igbo people or the country at large.

He called for a focus on hard work and finding practical solutions to the challenges facing the country.

In an interview with 9jalead, the minister stated that protests have not benefited the Igbo people, who thrive on constant hard work and dedication.

“So, don’t get involved in anything you know nothing about. By the way, what are people protesting for?”

In the past months, Nigerians have been seriously hit by rising inflation and economic hardship. Several Nigerians, under different groups, had called for a protest to draw the attention of the government to the plight the masses are facing.

The protest tagged “#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria” is scheduled to take place on August 1 across different parts of the country. The planned protest has been gathering momentum on social media, but the government has been calling on the protest organizers to shun the protest and embrace dialogue instead.
