Early arrival of electoral materials as voting begins in Kogi election

Voting has commenced in major polling units across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State.

DAILY POST gathered that there was an early arrival of election materials in some polling units while some are yet to commence accreditation and voting.

When DAILY POST visited 500 Unit open space, accreditation and voting had commenced at 9 am while in Ganaja, which happens to be the biggest polling unit in Ajaokuta Local Government, the electorate was spotted searching for their names on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registered list.

In Lokoja, almost all polling units have the presence of electoral and security officials, with prospective voters checking out their names.

In Ankpa, Idah, Omala and Ofu, reports also indicate early arrival of materials.

Similarly, Kabba Bunu, Mopamuro, Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas also witnessed the early arrival of election material and have since commenced accreditation and voting.

As at the time of filing this report, reports from across the State indicate the various areas are peaceful, with all the political actors hoping it will be sustained.
