Alausa noted that the establishment of this institution is part of a broader initiative to ensure that every state in Nigeria has access to a federal polytechnic.

The project is in line with the government’s strategy to enhance technological and vocational education.

In his correspondence, Alausa requested that the FCT minister identify appropriate locations in Gwarinpa for both the temporary and permanent campuses of the polytechnic.

Alausa also mentioned that a technical team from the Ministry of Education, along with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), will conduct an inspection of the proposed sites.

Additionally, he indicated that the government is willing to consider taking over existing tertiary institutions in the FCT that meet the criteria for the new polytechnic.

Previously, the NBTE had launched an initiative aimed at revitalizing polytechnic education across the country.

The Executive Secretary of NBTE, Idris Bugaje, highlighted the urgent need to tackle significant challenges facing polytechnic institutions.

He stated that efforts are underway to strengthen the capacity of these institutions, promote collaboration with industry, and foster international partnerships.…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
