The chairman has admitted to fraudulently paying himself and other officials N137 million in inflated estacode, which has since been recovered by the EFCC.

Additionally, he backdated documents and manipulated meeting minutes to authorize an illegal payment of N778 million as consultancy fees for a non-existent contract.

The chairman also instructed the withdrawal of N3.7 billion in cash from the Hajj subsidy, which remains unaccounted for.

Preliminary findings suggest that further investigations will reveal extensive inflation of costs related to pilgrims’ accommodation, drugs, transportation, and other Hajj operations.

These revelations point to a broader pattern of corruption, with the misuse of funds undermining the integrity of the Hajj process.
