Commissioner of Police Garba Ahmed gave the warning through the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Ahmed stressed that the command has already deployed personnel and operational assets to provide security before, during, and after the Sallah festivities across the state.

“This is to reiterate the commitment of the Yobe State Police Command towards ensuring the security and safety of the Muslim faithful on all Eid grounds in the state and to provide an enabling environment for peaceful Sallah festivities in the State,” he said.

While wishing the Muslim faithful in the state happy and peaceful Eid celebrations, he called on them to support the police and sister security agencies by providing timely, useful, and credible information on any suspicious person, movement, vehicle, or object.

“Motorists are advised to be law-abiding citizens, obey traffic regulations, avoid reckless and dangerous driving, and contribute to the existing relative peace in the state,” he admonished.
