Sowore appealed to the organised labour union to take action, stating that this was a critical moment for collective action to address the country’s challenges.

He emphasised the need for the NLC to demonstrate its support for Nigerian workers and citizens during this time of need, rather than remaining passive.

In a message to NLC, Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, advised NLC to identify with the Nigerians at this moment.

He wrote on his X account: “Stop hiding from Nigerians and Nigerian workers when they need you most, and declare or resume the nationwide strike from Monday, August 5th, 2024, until we win together! #RevolutionNow.”

SaharaReporters had reported earlier that for the third day in a row, a massive gathering of Lagos residents and the Take-It-Back Movement has converged in Ojota, Lagos State, to stage a peaceful protest.

Also, the thousands of Nigerians joined the protest in several states across the country, defying every efforts of the security agencies to frustrate the protest.

Under the banner of #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, the protesters remain united in their pursuit of transformative change and accountability.

With slogans and placards, the demonstrators have maintained a serene and orderly atmosphere, vocally expressing their demands for enhanced governance and a more promising future for Nigeria.

The collective effort continues to showcase the power of peaceful assembly and the shared desire for a better tomorrow.
