Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has discussed the role of former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz in the Gunners squad.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Spaniard says he has yet to decide where the German striker will line up for the team this season.
The Gunners played out a 1-1 draw with German side Numberg in their first pre-season game in Germany.
Bukayo Saka fired Arsenal in front after just seven minutes before the Germans responded through a rather calamitous goal from Kanji Okunuki in the second half.
Arsenal’s new recruit Havertz was called upon at half-time but he had a somewhat underwhelming debut.
He appeared to have been deployed in the advanced midfield role vacated by Granit Xhaka.
The German played most of last season as a false nine for Chelsea.
Arteta admitted that the role of the German in the side is still yet to be determined.
After last night’s game in Germany, Arteta was asked where he sees Havertz playing.
He told reporters, “We will see. We have to see how he adapts and get to know each other and build relationships.
“Football is about that and time will tell where he sees best.”
