According to The Guardian, Havertz has told Chelsea chiefs he wants to move on this summer for a fresh challenge.

Havertz is unwilling to see if Pochettino’s arrival improves his fortunes at Chelsea.

He is one of a number of Chelsea players who have been linked with moves ahead of the summer transfer window.

Having spent almost £600million on new signings over the last two transfer windows, Chelsea’s owners are keen to raise some funds through sales and reduce the squad number after finishing 12th in the Premier League last season.

Havertz was viewed as one of the most exciting talents in Europe when he completed a £72million move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020, but the 23-year-old has blown hot and cold at the club.

The Germany international, who has drawn interest from Real Madrid following Karim Benzema’s departure, has only scored 32 goals in 139 appearances for Chelsea so far.

Havertz still has two years left on his contract but has no intention of signing an extension, meaning Chelsea will likely agree to his demands and sanction his departure if they receive a suitable offer.
