Football expert Mark Goldbridge has described as ruthless and fatal humiliation the removal of Manchester United’s captaincy from Harry Maguire.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to him, the Red Devils may have to let the defender leave the club for free if they want to get him out of Old Trafford.
Goldbridge, a Manchester United fan, said this in his latest online column, according to talkSPORT.
According to him: “Harry Maguire’s removal as Manchester United captain was a ruthless move by Erik ten Hag; it was basically a public humiliation for him.”
Maguire tweeted on Sunday to announce that he has been stripped of the captain armband and Goldbridge said that it was almost like an exit tweet.
“It must have been a bit of a shock for Maguire, but he now must understand he has to go elsewhere, especially if he wants to keep his England place,” Goldbridge added.
“It is going to be difficult because of the wages. He’s on £200,000 a week and is 31 this coming season. He’s still England’s starting centre-back, and United are going to want £40m or £50m. Who’s going to want to pay that and £ 200,000 a week?”
