Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has hit out at Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial, saying the Frenchman is not a top player.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Souness also wants Man United manager, Erik ten Hag to sign Martial’s replacement at Old Trafford, insisting that the player’s time has come and gone.
Martial has not lived up to expectations at Man United following a £36m move from Monaco back in 2015.
The 27-year-old has scored just 16 goals over the past three seasons at Man United.
He was expected to be sold last summer after an underwhelming loan spell at Sevilla, but Ten Hag opted to keep him at the club.
“Obviously Manchester United are missing a striker,” Souness told Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey.
“The top players do it every single week – that is why they are top players and that is why they win stuff.
“Martial is not that, he doesn’t turn up every week. If you play for Manchester United, you will never play an easy game. You’re a scout for everyone.
“His time has come and gone at Manchester United. They need a centre-forward to get goals on a regular basis to help Marcus Rashford, who had a good season last year.”
