Former Chelsea player, Gus Poyet, has admitted that he ‘made a mistake’ with his initial verdict on the club’s big-money signing Mykhailo Mudryk.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Poyet also insisted that he is willing to give Mudryk more time to kick-start his career at Stamford Bridge.
Much was expected of Mudryk when he joined Chelsea in a £89m deal from Shakhtar Donetsk in January.
But the Ukrainian failed to make an impact at Chelsea in the second half of last season, as he is yet to score in 17 appearances for the Blues.
“Last year, I made a mistake, and I am not afraid of saying it,” Poyet told 888sport.
“When Chelsea signed Mykhailo Mudryk, I thought it was outstanding,
“I thought, “Wow, what an unbelievable player!” Then I remembered what happened to me and loads of other foreign players when they first moved to England – everyone is different and we all need different amounts of time to adapt to football.”
