It was gathered that the 27-year-old victim was fatally shot with a dane gun by his friend identified as Bode.

The tragic incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. within Laoso camp, located in Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the deceased and his friend had consumed a specially concocted portion, believed to be capable of rendering them immune to bullet wounds.

The charm was prepared by a native doctor who assured them of its invincibility against gunfire.

Seeking to put the charm’s efficiency to test, Tunde purportedly requested that Bode should fire the first shot at him.

However, as soon as the dane gun was discharged, Tunde immediately collapsed, losing his life in the process.

Upon realising the tragic outcome of their ill-fated experiment, Bode fled the scene in panic, leaving behind the lifeless body of his friend.

One of the sources added that following the incident, Tunde was rushed to a clinic at the camp, where he was confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, the incident has left the community in shock and disbelief.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, described the deceased and his friend as cultists.

He said, “one Tunde Akinmoyewa, a male ex-convict who is also a cultist, while testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured, was accidentally shot by one of his boys, named Bode.

“As a result of which he died while being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

“Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the mortuary, and efforts are in top gear to arrest the suspect.”
