Popular entertainer and social commentator Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has issued a pointed critique of the growing political alliances ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, challenging the sincerity and motives behind calls for national unity.
In a post on his social media platforms, Oputa expressed scepticism about emerging coalitions and political figures who, despite past failures, now present themselves as agents of change.

“Everybody is shouting ‘Let’s unite and take back Nigeria.’ The noise is loud. The outrage? Clear,” he wrote. “But… unite for what exactly?”
