Popular entertainer and social commentator Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has issued a pointed critique of the growing political alliances ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, challenging the sincerity and motives behind calls for national unity.

“Everybody is shouting ‘Let’s unite and take back Nigeria.’ The noise is loud. The outrage? Clear,” he wrote. “But… unite for what exactly?”
