A helicopter carrying six people crashed on Sunday in the Gaurikund area of Uttarakhand, northern India, amid poor weather conditions, according to Indian news agency ANI.
The aircraft had earlier been reported missing before authorities confirmed the crash. Rescue and relief operations are underway, with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local administration and other emergency teams on site.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed the incident via a post on X (formerly Twitter), assuring that all possible efforts were being made to assist victims.
Officials told broadcaster India Today that the helicopter lost its course due to adverse weather, though details about the passengers and their condition have not yet been made public.
