The Plateau State Police Command announced that it had arrested 22 suspects in connection with the killing of several travelers from Kaduna State who were en route to attend a wedding in Quan’pan Local Government Area of the state.

The Nation reported that in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, it was revealed that, in addition to the arrests, 14 individuals were rescued unharmed, while 21 others were evacuated to hospitals for medical treatment.

The incident occurred on Friday in Mangu Local Government Area, where no fewer than 12 wedding guests from Zaria, Kaduna State, were killed by a mob. The victims, who were travelling in an 18-seater bus, had reportedly lost their way and inadvertently entered Mangun—a community currently experiencing heightened insecurity and a wave of terrorist attacks.
