This is just as it was alleged that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, deceived President Bola Tinubu on his son’s candidature in the forthcoming council elections in the state.

It was alleged that while Obasa put out the name of his son, Ganiyu Obasa, for Agege LG Chairmanship position, President Tinubu struck it out. “This will not fly,” he reportedly said.
Sources stated that the Speaker was given the privilege of presenting another aspirant.
Obasa, hell bent on having his son becoming the Chairman of the local government, was said to have put forward the name of Tunde Azeez, who doubles as the Chairman of the APC in Agege LG.
“The candidate Obasa presented, Tunde Azeez was seriously ill. He was so sick that he had to be aided by the Chairmen of Agege LG, Hon Kola Egunjobi; and his Orile Agege LCDA counterpart, Hon Johnson Sunday Babatunde; to fill his nomination form.
“This is despite the fact that there are more physically fit aspirants in Obasa’s camp. One of them is the current Vice Chairman of Agege LG, Gbenga Abiola, who many had thought will replace Egunjobi,” said a source.
Many residents and stakeholders however, wondered why Obasa will go for someone who is not healthy and academically sound enough for the office.
To confirm the said plan of the Speaker, when the APC released the names of the Vice Chairmanship candidates of the party this week, the names of the son of Obasa was listed as the Vice Chairmanship candidate for Agege.
Investigation revealed that Obasa is planning to have his son become the council chairman through a decoy.
It was learnt that Tunde Azeez will eventually resign from his position on health ground paving the way for Ganiyu Obasa to become the substantive Chairman.
“Since he was railroaded into signing the nomination form at the secretariat of the APC on Acme Road, Tunde Disco has not been seen in public,” Remi Olayori, a budding politician in Agege said in an interview.
There are reports that the Azeez is being taken from one healing home to the other.
“When Obasa Stakeholders hold their press conference this week, Disco was nowhere to be found,” another politician, Usman Abdullah said.
Most of those who in interviews, expressed dismay at the way Obasa allegedly blatantly disobeyed the order of Tinubu and decided to install his son through the backdoor.
“President Tinubu should pause and take a look at how Obasa is denigrating his legacies through arrogant impunity,” a youth, Bolarinwa Ademoyo said.
