Nandi-Ndaitwah, who is currently the Vice President of Namibia, secured victory in the recent election, which was confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Namibia.

In a statement signed by Kimiebi Ebienfa, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerian government commended the Namibian people for voting in favour of stability and expressed optimism about strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria congratulates Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her historic election as the first female President of the Republic of Namibia. The people of Namibia have indeed voted for stability. Therefore, the Government of Nigeria looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant relationship during her tenure,” the statement read.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also extended his congratulations, highlighting the significance of the election for Namibia.
In a letter made available by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo praised Nandi-Ndaitwah for earning the trust and confidence of her people, adding that her victory signified Namibians’ faith in her leadership and experience.
“No doubt, the good people of Namibia have spoken and have decided to repose their trust and confidence in your leadership, particularly as the first female President of Namibia,” Obasanjo wrote.
