On Saturday, NNPLC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, stated that the company is working tirelessly to resolve the fuel scarcity.

Olufemi mentioned issues with the discharge operations of several vessels, but assured that normalcy at filling stations will be restored soon, though he did not specify a timeline.

NNPCL advised Nigerians against panic buying, stating the fuel is available for customers.

“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.

“The Company further states that it is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations,” the statement read.

Recall that earlier in July, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) blamed fuel scarcity on bad roads and floods for scarcity in Abuja and many other parts of Nigeria.
