They encouraged the government to facilitate repairs of local refineries, stressing that it would not only reduce the cost of fuel but also create employment for the youths.

Those who spoke at the 7th Induction Anniversary and Media Launch of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide, ESOCS’, Centenary Celebration Plan in Lagos, included Prelate and Baba Aladura of ESCOS, Dr David Bob-Manuel.

They said Nigeria, a nation rich in diversity and resilience, was presently facing a socio-economic crisis as many had been thrown into abject poverty due to poor economic policies.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has spoken on plans to ‘light up’ the nation’s capital.

Wike described the project as very dear to his administration, noting that the capital city will be 50 years old by next year.

The former Rivers State governor also appreciated the company’s efforts in making sure the commercial operation of the Abuja Metro line became possible during the first-anniversary celebration of President Tinubu.

Falana to FG: Ensure Completion of National Refinery Projects by September or Sue Contractors


Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has urged the Federal Government to ensure the completion of the rehabilitation of the nation’s refineries by September 2024 or take legal action against the contractors for breaching their contracts.

Falana, in a statement made available to Vanguard on Sunday, condemned the continuous delays in completing the $2.9 billion rehabilitation contracts awarded to Italian firms Tecnimont SPA and Saipem for the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries.
