It was reported that the Ogun State Amotekun Corps, raided the camp on Wednesday, and apprehended fifteen people, including the person running the camp, whose name was given as Idem Joy.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!It was reported that the arrested individuals, aged between 12, and 39, were forced into prostitution at the Railway Line Hotel, that is located along Old Bank Road in Ifo, Ogun State.
During the raid, security officers found several items, including ₦819,600 in cash, various types of drugs, cartons of condoms, and substances used to increase energy, among other things.
The Commandant of the Corps, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (retd.), stated that 14 of the girls were brought from Akwa Ibom State, while the others came from Cross River and Delta States.
He explained that when the victims were questioned, they said they had been forced to take an oath in a frightening ritual. As part of this, they were made to take off their clothes, and parts of their hair were cut off. This was done to scare them so much that they wouldn’t try to escape or tell anyone about what was happening to them.
A 17-year-old girl, whose name was not revealed, said she was brought to the state on November 7, 2024.
She explained that she was made to swear an oath and was told she had to work for one year before she could be free.
She said, “My customers paid me N5,000, N2,000 and most of the time N1,000. She promised me that once I work well, I’m free to go after one year and she would buy me a phone and a box filled with clothes.”
Further talking, she said, “Sometimes, I have 10 customers per day and when I’m paid after sex, I give her all the money, I just want to go back.”
