He explained that the reason for this sudden change isn’t far fetched because they are presently also faced with the harsh realities of the country.

According to him, the commerical activities that effectively runs through borders in the Northern part of the country have been brought to an halt thereby bringing unemployment to the youths in those regions.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko said that this was actually the first time he was seeing a one month protest notice given to the Federal Government.

He expressed his disappointment with the fact that the Government went in the opposite direction by threatening the possibility of the protest instead of meeting the demands of the people to prevent such protest from even happening.

Ironically, he claimed that the leader of this government in person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was once a sponsor of protests in the country. Now that the table has turned he believes that this government is refusing to allow any protest activities in the country.

During his recent interview with Arise News Television on Wednesday, he said: “I made a particular interview some weeks back before this protest even started that I have never seen where a protest will be advanced to a Government for almost a month and the Government did not take precise position and deal with issues immediately without allowing it to degenerate to this particular level.

Unfortunately this Government itself have been involved in sponsoring and advancing protests including Mr. President has been allegedly said to be sponsoring protests and even making pronouncements of protests. Nobody has threatened or arrested him for that”.
