One of the victims of the attack was a security guard whose house was among the first to be raided. Recounting his experience, he explained how he knew immediately that something was wrong when he heard the gate shaking.
“I was inside when I heard the gate was shaking, and I said to myself that this is not the wind,” he told Channels Television. “So, I quickly went to the window and saw someone trying to jump into the house. Then, the rest of the gang entered and positioned themselves around the compound.”
He added that the kidnappers moved around, warning each other to shoot anyone who tried to resist. In that moment of fear and hopelessness, he turned to his wife and told her something heartbreaking.
“When those people came, I knew that my own had finished. I told my wife to take care of my children.”
The attack left the community in shock, with residents expressing frustration over poor security response due to bad roads. A woman whose husband was kidnapped shared her pain, saying she woke up to find a strange man in her room and her husband missing.
According to the woman, one of the armed men hit her with a gun on her head. She explained that the abduction of her husband has left her frustrated and called on authorities to help rescue her husband.
