A former lawmaker and PDP chieftain, Tajudeen Yusuf, has alleged that Peter Obi’s departure from the Peoples Democratic Party in 2022 could have been prevented if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had considered him as a running mate.

Yusuf argues that Atiku’s overconfidence in securing the presidency without strategic alliance-building led to the loss of a key political figure to the Labour Party. “If you recall when Atiku declared to run for presidency, Peter Obi was still there with him. The forms were just being sold. If Atiku had even waited for forms to close, Peter Obi will have no Labour Party to go to,” Yusuf told Channels TV. “But because he was so sure to win because of the promises and the alleged deal he did in 2019 with the villa, he was so sure that he will not need anybody, so he thought with anybody I pick, I will win.”….KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
