Fear and tension have spread through Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State after a brutal attack on the Onelga Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) office claimed the life of a Special Intervention Squad (SIS) operative, Corporal Friday Francis. The attack, which happened late Monday night just behind the LGA Secretariat, is believed to be linked to intensifying cult-related violence in the area.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Adepoju, who addressed reporters Tuesday morning, stated that the police had received intelligence suggesting that certain individuals captured the incident on video. He issued a stern warning: “If they refuse to show us the video, we have no option but to declare them wanted.” His words have added new urgency to an already chaotic situation.
