Wike made this threat during the Rivers State PDP Congress on Saturday, held in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He stated, “As long as we are alive, nobody will take the PDP structure from us. I have heard that some governors claim they will take the structure and give it to someone else. I feel sorry for those governors because I will put fire in their states.

“I’ve learned they received some money from the signature bonus, and now their egos are inflated, thinking they can meddle in my state.

“Get ready, because I have the ability to do the same in your state. Whether you’re from Bauchi or another state, it doesn’t matter to me. If you attempt to interfere in Rivers State, you will get burned. You’ll find it impossible to govern; political crisis will engulf you as far as PDP is concerned.

“I’ve warned them: now that you’ve begun, when I retaliate, don’t blame me for destroying PDP. You are the ones trying to destroy PDP. Let Rivers State manage its own party affairs.”

Wike further alleged that his critics are attempting to join the APP, challenging them to confront him within the party.

“We’re aware of these unstable characters who are joining the APP. Let them wait; they will face consequences in the elections.”

Wike’s relationship with Fubara, his successor, has soured since Fubara assumed office as governor in 2023. The Rivers State legislative assembly has become divided into factions.
