According to Punch, Yakasai said he is thankful for the blessings he has received, especially his large family. He stated that his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are now more than 80 in number and still growing. He mentioned that this, to him, is a special gift from God. He also said his long life may be linked to family history, explaining that his father lived to 107 years and his mother lived to almost 100. He said: “My children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are more than 80 and still expanding”. He also said “It was a gift from God. My father died at the age of 107 years and my mother died at almost 100 years.”

He stated that such a system is no longer realistic. He explained that at almost 100 years old, he has seen enough to know what can and cannot work in the country today.
