The Nation reports that the crime happened in Mrs. Adene’s apartment, where her body was found with several stab wounds and her head severed.

He said that Precious, who had been hired as a driver only two months earlier, planned the murder.
Philip explained that Precious had overheard about N150,000 being deposited into Mrs. Adene’s account and convinced him to commit the crime.
Philip described how Precious suggested the idea of the murder after learning about the money. Initially hesitant, Philip was eventually forced into agreeing by Precious, who threatened to kill him if he refused.
On the day of the crime, Mrs. Adene had asked Philip to help with laundry, and Precious showed up, offering to help as well. Philip claimed that Precious drugged him and then used a cutlass to threaten him into participating in the murder.
He said, “I am here because I killed my boss. I had been working with her for five months as her cook. She had just hired a driver who had only been working for two weeks.”
