Buhari made this disclosure during an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State.

He acknowledged the difficulties of leading a nation with many ethnic groups and challenges but expressed optimism about the country’s future under its current leadership.
He spoke about his financial situation and reflected on the challenges of governing a diverse country like Nigeria.
The former president stated that he did not enrich himself while in office, stating that transparency and accountability were his guiding principles throughout his presidency.
Buhari explained that he owns three houses, one is in Daura, his hometown in Katsina State, and the other two are in Kaduna.
He mentioned that one of the Kaduna properties is rented out, and the income from it helps cover his living expenses.
“After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I can only get money for feeding,” he stated.
