During the 12-day war between the two countries, the former commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Emergency Headquarters and his designated replacement were both assassinated, according to a report by The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
The identity of the new commander will be kept secret to protect him in light of the twin assassinations, according to the Iranian state-affiliated Tasnim news agency.
