They warned that if the government does not change its approach and actively work towards securing the release of the hostages, they will be unable to continue serving.

“If the government does not change course immediately and work towards securing a deal to bring the hostages home, we will not be able to continue serving,” they added.
“For some of us, the red line has already been crossed, and for others, it is rapidly approaching: the day when, with broken hearts, we will stop reporting for service.”
The group consists of both reserve and regular soldiers, including those who have been deployed in Gaza and along Israel’s northern border since the Hamas attacks in October last year. During the incursion, militants abducted 251 individuals and took them to Gaza, where 97 are believed to still be held captive.
This development comes amid ongoing military actions by Israel against Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza. The Israeli government has faced mounting pressure both domestically and internationally to negotiate for the release of hostages taken during the initial Hamas incursion, where 251 individuals were kidnapped.
