DAILY POST reports that Alkaleri, where Governor Bala Mohammed hails from, is one of the parts suffering bandit attacks.

Mohammed had recently decried the spate of kidnappings in the State, identifying the flashpoints as Toro, Ningi, Alkaleri, and Tafawa-Balewa LGAs.

Irked by the development, the governor ordered the task force to engage the bandits and secure the release of all the 33 kidnapped victims who were abducted a few days ago.

However, details are still sketchy on whether any ransom was paid as of the time of writing this report.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the LGA, Comr. Bala Ibrahim Mahmoud, announced their release to newsmen in Bauchi on Saturday.

He said the victims were received from security operatives in Yalwan Duguri of Alkaleri on Friday night after the successful operation.

Mahmoud commended the security agencies for the quick intervention, adding that the victims will undergo medical checkups to ensure their perfect health status before further action.
