A local pastor, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that Rev. Prince Umukoro, a pastor at a well-known Pentecostal church in Sapele and owner of a private school, had previously taken Emmanuel for drug rehabilitation. While Emmanuel initially showed signs of improvement, he recently began displaying symptoms of a relapse.

“He would often stand outside their house in the Ugbeyiyi area, smiling aimlessly, and had previously attacked his mother with a cutlass, though his father managed to intervene,” the pastor shared.

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday, September 6, 2024, when Emmanuel’s father had left for a burial ceremony in Imo State.

With no one else at home, Emmanuel allegedly attacked his mother with a newly purchased axe, killing her before dragging her body outside and setting it on fire.

Upon discovering the crime, neighbors rushed to the police station.

Emmanuel, who had fled the scene in his mother’s Sienna car, was apprehended by the police at Effurun Roundabout in Warri and brought back to the Sapele Police Station.

While the Delta State Police Command spokesman, Edafe Bright, has yet to confirm the incident, a reliable police source confirmed that the body of the victim, known locally as “Mama Faith,” has been deposited at the Sapele Central Hospital.

The source added, “We arrested the suspect in Warri, where he was even trying to pick up passengers in the vehicle.”…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
