Raheem Sterling has had a strange Chelsea career so far.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! He was signed as a missing piece for a Thomas Tuchel team that felt like it was one or two players away from the absolute top. Instead he walked into a total mess where Tuchel was fired and the team has sunk into a downward spiral.
In the middle of that he got injured, and it’s only in the last couple of weeks he’s been able to get back on the pitch. But as a senior player, he’s someone Graham Potter wants to work with, as you can tell from the Chelsea’s coach’s quotes about the winger:
Graham Potter: “He attacks the back line well. He’s still building up because of the hamstring problem he had. He’s getting stronger and stronger every minute. I thought he contributed really well, especially in the first half.”

If Potter can survive this season, Sterling should go on to be a really important player for him. That starts on Tuesday night, when the England star should be fit enough to take on Borussia Dortmund as we look to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
