According to a report from Vanguard Newspaper, the Confederation of African Football, CAF has dished out the long awaited judgement in the case of the abandoned match between Libya and Nigeria. Recall that the return match of the 2025 AFCON Qualifier Game between Nigeria and Libya was cancelled after the Super Eagles pulled out due to alleged maltreatment and abandonment from the Libyan Football Federation.
According to reports, the Super had lamented that they were left stranded at the Al Abraq airport in Libya after flight was diverted while they headed for Benghazi. They stayed for more than 12 hours without food, water or Internet connection.
Reacting to the allegation, CAF vowed to commence investigation and take action on the party was found guilty.
