SERAP revealed in the statement that DSS officers stormed their office and demanded to meet with the organization’s directors.
The move has been widely condemned as an attempt to intimidate and harass SERAP, which has been a vocal critics of the government policies.
The development which followed the arrest of the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, by the DSS at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has sent shock waves throughout the human rights community in Nigeria and reinforced claims on the government’s readiness to silent dissenting voices using the state instruments.
The invasion of SERAP office came. just 24 hours after it urged President Tinubu to reverse the latest hike in fuel pump price.
