Eyewitness reports state that the sudden and mighty floods swept through Ekosodin, catching many residents off guard. The floodwaters quickly filled streets, homes, and hostels, causing panic and fear among students and other locals in the predominantly student-populated community.

So far, three students have been rescued from the debris, and rescue operations are ongoing. Emergency response teams have been dispatched to the scene, but concerns remain high as more individuals could still be trapped under the rubble.

One student, who was present at the scene, described the situation as “terrifying,” saying, “The water came so fast, and before we knew it, parts of the hostel had already collapsed.”

The floodwaters have also paralyzed movement within the area, with many streets completely submerged. Authorities are advising residents to stay indoors and avoid flooded areas as they continue to assess the extent of the damage.

The collapse has heightened fears among residents and students in Ekosodin, who are concerned about the integrity of other buildings in the area given the persistent rainfall. While it is not uncommon for Ekosodin to experience flooding during the rainy season, the magnitude of this morning’s flood has led to calls for immediate action to improve drainage systems in the community.

Local authorities are yet to provide an official statement regarding the cause of the building collapse or any plans for further evacuation efforts. However, residents and students remain on high alert as they brace for the possibility of more rainfall in the coming days.

In the meantime, relief efforts are being organized to provide temporary shelter for displaced students and residents who have been affected by the flood and collapse.

The situation is developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
