Kaduna CP orders manhunt for NYSC member’s killers

The police in Kaduna State have ordered a manhunt for three suspected killers of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Grace Chayla Silas, in the Barnawa area of the state.

DAILY POST recalls that Silas was attacked and killed on October 18 during her physical fitness exercise in the Barnawa area of the metropolis.

She was killed by yet-to-be-identified men riding a motorcycle.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, emphasized his commitment to bringing her assailants to justice and ensuring the safety of corps members in their lodges.

According to the statement, Garba stated this while receiving a delegation from the NYSC led by the Zonal Director, North West, Mr Kehinde Aremu Cole, in his office.

He expressed condolences to the Director-General and staff of the corps, the deceased’s immediate family members, her colleagues and friends.

Earlier, Cole, who was accompanied by the state director, Mr Hassan Mahmud Taura, and other members of staff, also requested increased collaboration between the police and the NYSC to enhance the security of corps members, particularly in their lodges.
