The flood, which began on Saturday and continued into Sunday morning, forced victims to seek refuge in public schools. These temporary shelters are providing a safe haven for those who have lost their homes.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Tafida visited the affected villages to assess the damage and provide support. He donated N5 million to each village as initial aid and an additional N1 million for food and drinks.
Tafida urged the victims to see the flood as an act of God and assured them that the government would take immediate action to address their needs. He ordered a comprehensive list of affected households to be compiled and forwarded to Governor Nasir Idris for further assistance.
The flood has added to the woes of Kebbi State, which has been identified as a high-risk area by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET). As the state continues to experience heavy rainfall, concerns about further flooding and displacement remain.
