Addressing the demonstrators, Fubara expressed gratitude for their peaceful conduct and assured them that their grievances would be relayed to President Bola Tinubu.

However, his attempt to placate the protesters by offering money for pure water was met with anger.
I will give you a small thing for you to drink pure water,” he said, which provoked a strong reaction from the crowd.
The protesters, clearly frustrated, responded with chants of “No no, keep your money, we want good governance in Nigeria,” and called for President Tinubu to step down.
Despite Fubara’s attempts to clarify his offer and address their concerns, the protesters remained unmoved and continued to voice their discontent.
Faced with increasing hostility, Fubara attempted to pacify the crowd but was ultimately forced to leave.
He waved his hands in a gesture of farewell before stepping down from the platform in front of the government house.
