Kolade-Otitoju expressed that, regardless of personal opinions about the governor, it is clear that as a Nigerian, Sanwo-Olu would never condone the stigmatization of fellow Nigerians.

Kolade-Otitoju condemned the divisive rhetoric suggesting Igbos should leave Lagos, questioning its justification and urging unity among Nigerians.

He acknowledged that while conflicts with friends from different ethnic backgrounds are normal, they should not lead to calls for an entire ethnic group to be excluded.

He firmly asserted that every Nigerian has the right to reside in any state of their choice.

“We condemn this call,” Kolade-Otitoju stated, urging unity among Nigerians and stressing that Lagos should remain a place where all citizens can coexist peacefully.

He praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for quickly condemning the suggestion that Igbos should leave Lagos, emphasizing that such rhetoric is harmful and divisive.

He stressed that disagreements with Igbos should not escalate to calls for their expulsion and reaffirmed that every Nigerian has the right to live anywhere in the country.

He also called for a thorough investigation into the origins of the divisive statement.
