The investigation revealed that Awesu was invited to the city by Adebayo Happiness, a former student of Summit University, Offa, who had promised her a fee of N15,000 to act as his girlfriend at a party.

Tragically, the encounter led to her murder, and her body was discarded at a refuse dump.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, disclosed the arrests at a press conference on Friday, August 30. Those detained include the prime suspect, Adebayo Happiness, along with his parents, Pastor Adebayo Adeniyi and Mrs. Bukola Adeniyi.

Also arrested were Miss Kolawola Timileyin, who facilitated the connection between Awesu and Happiness, and three hotel employees—Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Amina, and Bulus Peter—where the crime occurred.

CP Olaiya explained that after the murder, Happiness returned to Offa and hid the victim’s phone in his hostel.

The investigation led to the apprehension of Happiness’ parents, who were found to have tampered with evidence. Mrs.

Adeniyi was discovered to have hidden the SIM card from the deceased’s iPhone within a wall near their residence, contrary to Happiness’ claim that the phone was discarded in a river.

The hotel staff, who were on duty at the time, were implicated in the unlawful disposal of Awesu’s body.

CP Olaiya assured that the suspects will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.

We remain committed to delivering justice and ensuring the safety and security of our community,” he affirmed. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>
