A female student of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has recounted a chilling ordeal that has reignited serious concerns about campus security. Speaking anonymously to The Nation, she revealed how a thief broke into her hostel at night, robbed her, and then raped her — a trauma she says was met with shocking indifference by local authorities.
According to the victim, when she reported the incident to the Malete police, she was dismissed and told to “go and treat herself.” The lack of empathy and immediate response has sparked outrage among students, who say this is just one of several disturbing attacks happening unchecked in and around campus.
