The Red Line Rail is one of the six rail lines and a monorail planned for Lagos in the Strategic Transport Master Plan. The new rail service will provide free rides for passengers and will run four daily trips between Oyingbo and Agbado.

Ojelabi explained that the new Red Line Rail connects Lagos with Ogun State, benefiting many Lagos workers and business owners who live in Ogun. He described this as a significant milestone in the city’s transport system.

This milestone marks the culmination of planning and training of technical and ground staff; installation of all the security features, and a successful six-week trial run conducted without passengers to ensure the system’s safety, reliability, and efficiency, Ojelabi said.

He further explained that starting from today, the Red Line Rail would carry “non-fee-paying passengers in organised groups to collect feedback before the commencement of commercial operations.

The partial operations, similar to what was done during the test phase of the Blue Line, is a major step forward in realizing the Lagos State Government’s vision of a modern, efficient, integrated and sustainable transportation system, he added.

The first phase of the Red Line covers a 27-kilometer route from Agbado to Oyingbo. Ojelabi said, The Red Line’s first phase will provide a reliable and affordable transportation option for commuters, reducing traffic congestion and improving the quality of life for Lagos residents.

The launch of the Red Line Rail is expected to ease traffic in Lagos and offer a more comfortable travel option for many residents.READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>
